It started in a STEM lecture hall at UC San Diego. You know the "lecture hall soundtrack"—the ritual of spilled coffee, crushed cans, and the brutal thud of a laptop hitting the floor because someone tried to balance their entire life on a six-inch wooden flap.

I spent every day throwing my notes on the floor just to make room for my computer. One afternoon, out of pure frustration, I tried wedging a standard clipboard against the desk to see if it would hold. It didn't. But the idea did.

I took that concept to the campus 3D printers and laser cutters, engineered a heavy-duty prototype out of ABS plastic, and started using it in class. Before long, people weren't just looking; they were tapping me on the shoulder asking where they could buy one. My response was always the same: "You're looking at him".

ENGINEERED FOR THE GRIND

ClipDesk wasn't built in a boardroom. It was built in a lab to solve the physical limitations of the modern student. We tested its durability by literally dropping it off a building—and it didn't even break. Constructed from ultra-durable ABS plastic, it will never scratch in your bag, and we added a high-friction grip coating to one side so your setup stays locked exactly where you put it.

We realized that a solid surface wasn't enough, so we integrated a multi-use cupholder that locks in your coffee or Red Bull while doubling as a catch-all for Apple Pencils and keys.

We also saw that left-handed students were being ignored by standard classroom design. To fix that, we made ClipDesk fully adjustable. A system of modular holes and a custom tension screw—hidden perfectly within the cupholder—allows you to move the clip to any position in seconds.
